Retrofitting and reinforcement of Levees

The ISSMGE Technical Committee 201 (TC201) on Dikes and Levees is preparing a joint report on the retrofitting and reinforcement of levees. This report aims to advance the international exchange of knowledge on techniques for strengthening levees.

Call for contributions for a joint report by the ISSMGE TC201

Following a similar structure of our previous report on the failure paths/failure scenarios (available on the ISSMGE Online Library), the basis of the new report will be a framework of retrofitting and reinforcement techniques. International contributions on cases and/or technique factsheets will form a part of the core content of the report.

We kindly invite you to submit a contribution. Each contribution will form an independent section acknowledging the names of the contributing authors. We welcome contributions in the form of:
•    Case study of a reinforcement or retrofitting that has been carried out, and/or
•    Case study of a pilot or demonstration project in the development of an innovative technique and/or
•    Case study of experiments investigating the feasibility of innovative techniques, and/or
•    Technical factsheet on a technique.
